How can I avoid looking unlawfully at women passing by my shop, especially with the hot weather and power outages that force me to stand at the door, knowing that some of them are customers?

A Muslim must fear Allah and beware of His wrath. Allah has commanded lowering the gaze from non-mahram (definition) women, as He says: "Tell the believing men to lower their gaze and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do." If one is compelled to go out, he should give the road its due by lowering his gaze, refraining from causing harm, returning greetings, enjoining good, and forbidding evil, remembering that the heat of this world is incomparable to the heat of the Hereafter. He must strive against his soul and seek Allah's help.
