Is it permissible for a person to say in the supplication for the deceased: "O Allah, if he was a doer of good, then increase his good deeds," instead of "then increase his good-doing" as narrated from Abu Hurayrah?

This supplication is authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Al-Tabarani narrated it in Al-Mu'jam Al-Kabeer and Al-Hakim in Al-Mustadrak with the wording: "O Allah, Your servant and the son of Your female servant is in need of Your mercy, and You are free from the need to punish him. If he was a doer of good, then increase his good deeds, and if he was a doer of evil, then overlook his misdeeds." There is nothing to prevent supplicating with it.
