Is it permissible to perform the two rak'ahs of seeking forgiveness mentioned in the hadith after missing the congregational Fajr prayer, in order to be forgiven for the sin?
Whoever misses congregational prayer without negligence will attain its reward, Allah willing, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever performs ablution well, then goes out intending to go to the mosque and finds that the people have already prayed, Allah will write for him a reward like that of those who attended it, and that will not diminish anything from their rewards." As for one who was negligent in it, he has disobeyed Allah, and he must repent and resolve not to repeat it. He should then begin with the obligatory prayer along with its supererogatory prayers if time permits.
