What is the reason for the prohibition of naming with names such as: Yasar, Rabah, Nujaih, and Aflah? Is it a prohibition of تحريم (absolute prohibition) or كراهة (disliked)? How can this prohibition be reconciled with the prohibition of bad omens (تَشَاؤُم)? Does the dislike (كراهة) disappear if it does not lead to a bad omen? What should someone do if they have been named with these names? Does the name (Islam) fall within this prohibition?

The reason for the prohibition of some names is the repulsiveness of the answer and the possibility of falling into ṭīrah (superstitious belief in omens), which is a disliking of purification (tanzīh), not a prohibition. The prohibition of these names does not contradict the prohibition of pessimism. Whoever is named with a prohibited name may change it to something better. The name "Islam" is not considered among the prohibited names because it does not entail self-praise.
