What is the ruling on electronic amusement park games that rely on skill in shooting, and in which the player is rewarded with physical prizes according to his collection of cards won from playing?

The general rule regarding children's games is permissibility, unless evidence indicates otherwise. Many games, however, contain doctrinal, moral, psychological, and health-related harms.

Regarding the cards a player obtains and exchanges for a toy or other item, there are two situations:

1. First Situation: If the value of the exchanged toy is small and not the primary intention of the player at the beginning of the game, and the amount paid is the usual fee for games, then this is permissible. 2. Second Situation: If these gifts have value to the player and are an intended part of the game, then this is forbidden due to the presence of gharar (definition) (uncertainty/deception) and maysir (definition) (gambling). The participant intends to acquire these cards, which may be many or few, thereby invalidating the transaction and rendering it unlawful.

The Prophet, peace be upon him, forbade sales involving gharar, which is a fundamental principle in sales transactions and encompasses many issues such as selling non-existent or unknown items. Some gharar may be tolerated in sales if there is a need for it, and there is a consensus on the permissibility of certain things involving slight gharar, such as selling a stuffed cloak, or renting a house for a month (despite the varying number of days in a month), or entering a public bath for a fee (despite varying water usage), or drinking from a waterskin for compensation (despite the unknown quantity of the drink).

For gharar to be impactful, it must be significant. Slight gharar has no effect on the contract, and this is a point of agreement among jurists.
