What is the ruling on the action of a mother who harshly beats her mischievous child, and is this considered unlawful (haram), especially with the husband's objection and his threat not to forgive her?

Islam has commanded that children be raised properly, including raising them with religion and morals. Hitting a child for disciplinary purposes may be permissible after they reach the age of discernment, and this is supported by the hadith: "Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and beat them for it when they are ten." From this, it is understood that hitting should only be for those who are ten years old or older. Therefore, hitting a child who is two and a half years old is not permissible, because it harms them and does not benefit them. A child at this age does not comprehend or understand, and it is not wise to raise a child with violence and harshness, but rather with gentleness and kindness. The spouses should repent to Allah for this action.
