What is incumbent upon the wealthy in their dealings with other social classes regarding housing, clothing, and lifestyle?

Every social class is a test from Allah. The wealthy must fulfill their obligatory duties, such as Zakat, Hajj, and assisting the needy, and it is commendable for them to spend surplus wealth on virtuous deeds.

The spender must exercise moderation and temperance, neither being extravagant nor stingy, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "And those who, when they spend, do not spend extravagantly nor do they stint, but are ever between that [extremity and this] with [due] moderation."

Extravagance includes spending beyond need, excessive indulgence in luxury, or transgressing from the lawful to the unlawful. It is commendable for the wealthy to be humble and to minimize excesses in clothing, dwelling, and food.
