Did women work during the time of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and what were the jobs they performed, if any?

Women's work during the Prophetic era was common and regulated by Islamic legal principles, falling into four categories:

1. Treating the wounded and caring for the sick: They participated in غزوات (military expeditions) with their husbands or maharim (unmarriageable kin) to provide water and treat the wounded. 2. Agriculture: They performed agricultural tasks such as harvesting dates and carrying date pits. 3. Manual labor: They engaged in handicrafts and earned a living from them, such as Zaynab, the wife of Ibn Mas'ud. 4. Education and issuing fatwas (religious edicts): The wives of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, especially Aisha and Umm Salamah, were well-known for education, issuing fatwas, and transmitting the Sunnah.

There are still areas that require women's work within Islamic legal guidelines, such as educating girls and treating women and men in special circumstances.
