Is it considered apostasy to ask God for a sin, such as asking for facilitation in committing adultery?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is not permissible for a person to ask God to facilitate what is unlawful, such as adultery, because this contradicts the hatred and dislike of what is unlawful. This supplication is forbidden and is considered an transgression in supplication, and its prohibition is commensurate with the prohibition of its subject matter. Whoever supplicates for a transgressor to persist has loved that God be disobeyed. Transgression in supplication occurs by asking for what is not permissible, such as assistance in unlawful acts, or for what God does not do, such as asking for immortality or the removal of human necessities. The disobedient person must hate the disobedience in his heart and fear God's punishment. Whoever does not hate it and does not fear God in it is not a believer.
