Should I say in the final Tashahhud, "Peace be upon you and upon the righteous servants of Allah," instead of "Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah"?

The final tashahhud is a pillar (rukn) of prayer, while the first tashahhud is an obligation (wajib). A Muslim should preserve the exact wording of the prescribed invocations. Indeed, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, taught Ibn Mas'ud the tashahhud just as he would teach him a surah from the Qur'an. This indicates the great importance of its wording. Therefore, it is not permissible to change "Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah" to "Peace be upon you and upon the righteous servants of Allah," as this alters both the wording and the meaning. It is advisable to adhere to the prophetic formulation, and Sheikh Al-Albani’s book "The Prophet's Prayer Described" is a good reference for this.
