Is it permissible to combine the Maghrib and Isha prayers in this situation for the purpose of sleeping, for adults and for non-pubescent children? What is the ruling on sleeping between the times of the two prayers if a person is tired? And what is the meaning of the word "makruh" (disliked)?

Every prayer must be performed on time, and it is not permissible to delay it, for Allah the Almighty says: "Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a book [due at] fixed times," and for the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Perform the prayer at its time." It is not permissible to combine two prayers except for an excuse such as travel, illness, or rain, and sleep is not an excuse for combining. Parents must teach their children prayer and discipline them concerning it, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Command your children to pray when they are seven years old, and beat them for it when they are ten." Sleeping after the Maghrib prayer until 'Isha' is disliked.
