Is the invitation for spouses to caress their partners before intercourse derived from Allah's saying, "And put forth [good] for yourselves," in verse 223 of Surat Al-Baqarah?

There is no interpretation for this verse mentioned by any of the exegetes. However, regarding the interpretation of the verse: "And put forth [good] for yourselves," Al-Qurtubi mentioned several sayings, among them: put forth what will benefit you tomorrow, such as obedience and righteous deeds. Another is: seeking offspring and progeny, and marrying chaste women so that the offspring may be righteous and pure. Another is: the precedence of children who died young. Ibn Abbas and Ata' said: put forth the remembrance of Allah before intercourse by saying: "In the name of Allah, O Allah, keep Satan away from us and keep Satan away from what You have provided for us."
