Is it permissible to recite the small Sayfi supplication, known as Du'a al-Qamus, for protection and preservation from envious eyes, and is it one of the supplications of the Shi'a?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

This supplication is attributed by some Sufi orders to Imam Ali -may Allah be pleased with him- through chains of narration from Jinn or unknown individuals. It has not been mentioned in books of Hadith or biographies, so it appears to be fabricated and attributed to him. The well-established authentic supplications from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, are sufficient.
