What is the meaning of "Satan's Obstacle," may Allah benefit you?

The 'Iqbat al-Shaytan' (Devil's Hunch), with a damma on the 'ayn' and sukoon on the 'qaf', has been forbidden. Abu 'Ubaydah and others interpreted it as the 'iq'a' (squatting) that is prohibited in prayer, which is for the worshipper to press his buttocks to the ground, raise his shins, and place his hands on the ground, as a dog does. It is one of the postures of sitting that are forbidden in prayer.
