What are a wife's rights regarding alimonies and 'iddah, and is she entitled to seek divorce while still a virgin after a six-month marriage? Also, must the husband pay for the dining room set that he did not provide?

It is not permissible for a woman to seek divorce merely because her hymen remains intact after intercourse, if her husband is capable of performing sexual intercourse. The hymen may be elastic and remain intact even after intercourse. Seeking divorce in such a case is forbidden according to the hadith: "Any woman who asks her husband for divorce without any valid reason, the scent of Paradise will be forbidden to her." Nor is it permissible for her to leave the marital home without his permission.

However, if the hymen's intactness is due to the husband's inability to perform sexual intercourse (impotence), the husband is given one year for treatment. If the impotence persists, the judge can annul the marriage. If the inability is due to a temporary illness, seeking divorce is not permissible unless the illness prolongs and the wife is harmed.
