There are three impediments to inheritance: slavery, murder, and difference in religion. Disobedience to parents (ʿUqūq) is not an impediment. Therefore, a disobedient son is not deprived of his inheritance according to , and his disobedience is among the major sins that necessitate repentance. There is no doubt that supplicating against one's parents is among the greatest forms of disobedience.
