The answer

Disobeying parents is one of the greatest major sins. It is not permissible for a father to oppress his son or deny him his rights. It is not permissible for a father to be unfair in giving gifts and grants to his children, giving to some and depriving others, because the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Be mindful of Allah and be just among your children." Some children should not be given and others deprived due to their shortcomings, nor is it permissible to make a will to that effect. One can try to reach out to the children, and mediate through their mother or her relatives to reconcile. A father may gift his wife whatever he wishes without having to be just between her and his children, provided that this is not intended to deprive some heirs.
