Does feeling pleasure while excessively performing istinja’ (washing after urinating or defecating) invalidate the fast, and is a compensatory fast (qada’) required?

It is not permissible to exaggerate in istinjāʾ (washing after relieving oneself) to induce and prolong pleasure, as this is considered prohibited masturbation. Repentance (tawbah) and seeking forgiveness (istighfār) are obligatory for whoever does this. Merely touching the private parts during istinjāʾ with a sensation of pleasure does not invalidate the fast, as long as no semen is ejaculated.
