Allah Almighty established a principle: (Every soul, for what it has earned, is retained) [Q 74:38], and many verses affirm it. Thus, every human being will be held accountable for their deeds on the Day of Judgment. It is not permissible for a Muslim to commit evil under the pretext that someone else is the cause and will bear the burden alone. Therefore, your companion is mistaken if he said what was attributed to him.
