Is it permissible to eat meat not slaughtered according to Islamic law when visiting relatives, especially given the embarrassment of abstaining?

The meat slaughtered by a disbeliever who is not from the People of the Book is not permissible to eat, based on the Almighty's saying: "This day [all] good foods have been made lawful for you. And the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you" (Al-Ma'idah: 5).

It is also not permissible to eat what a Muslim or a person from the People of the Book has slaughtered in an unlawful manner, such as by striking, stunning, or scalding in hot water. The lawful slaughter is performed by cutting the throat or by stabbing the jugular.

A Muslim woman must fear Allah and adhere to the rulings of her religion. The embarrassment from her relatives does not permit her to transgress the limits of Allah. Rather, she must enjoin good upon them and forbid evil.
