Is it correct to object to holding a women's party that includes entertainment, adornment, and extravagance at an inappropriate time?
Displaying joy on happy occasions and permissible recreation through gathering for food, fostering affection, and conversing are both acceptable if they are free from Munkarat (reprehensible acts). However, if the gathering includes Munkarat such as boasting about adornments, extravagance in feasts and foods, singing accompanied by musical instruments, and imposing a large financial contribution, then this is a forbidden Munkar. If it is possible to hold the gathering while abandoning the Munkarat, economizing on expenses, and alleviating the burden on those in hardship, then it is a good matter. But if the Munkarat are inherent to it, then it is not permissible to engage in it.
