Is it possible for one not to see their family in the Hereafter, even if they enter Paradise, and is it possible to request a different family other than them?
The questioner is advised not to surrender to feelings of hatred towards family, but rather to treat them with kindness and gentleness, as Allah Almighty said: {Nor can a good deed and a bad deed be equal. Repel [evil] with that which is better} (Fussilat: 34). Family and relatives are more deserving of kindness and affection.
The people of Paradise will be loving towards each other; there will be no mutual hatred among them. Allah Almighty will remove all rancor from their hearts, for "matters of the Hereafter cannot be measured by matters of this world." Allah Almighty has blessed the people of Paradise by joining children with their parents in status, even if their deeds did not reach that level, to bring joy to the parents, as stated in His saying: {And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith – We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything from [the reward of] their deeds} (At-Tur: 21).
As for asking Allah Almighty to grant the questioner another family, this is an transgression in supplication and is impermissible.
