How can we help a brother who practices masturbation while trying to quit it to avoid hypocrisy?

We ask Allah to grant the questioner and his brother success in repenting from the forbidden act of masturbation. It is not enough to stop doing it; rather, repentance, regret, and a firm resolve not to return to it are essential. Let the fear of hypocrisy be a motivation to abandon this forbidden act. If you fall into it, do not stop advising your brother, for committing a sin is not an excuse to abandon da'wah (calling others to Islam).
