Is it permissible to say motivational phrases such as: "You were created to be a doctor," and is it permissible to use Quranic verses such as: "And be patient for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes" to alleviate distress and increase trust in Allah, knowing that they were said in specific situations to the prophets?

There is no objection to using motivational phrases that increase resolve and strengthen determination, as long as the apparent intention of the speaker is good.

Similarly, there is no objection to a person imagining that verses indicating Allah's protection, support, and victory are addressing them, and drawing from them meanings of security and tranquility. This is considered a praiseworthy interpretation and contemplation of the Quran.

Indeed, the reader who contemplates the Quran feels that it is addressing them, as Ibn Mas'ud said: "When you hear Allah say: 'O you who have believed' — then lend it your ear, for it is either good that He commands, or evil that He forbids."

Al-Ajurri mentioned that contemplating the Quran introduces the servant to their Lord, His immense authority, power, and grace. It obliges them to worship Him, makes them wary of what Allah has warned against, and desirous of what He has encouraged. The Quran thus becomes a healing for them, and their concern becomes to take admonition from what they recite, not merely to complete a reading.
