1. Is it permissible to feud with a relative who has wronged someone unjustly, and what is the legitimate feud, especially if the wrongdoer was in a state of agitation? 2. What is the ruling on a Muslim going with a Christian woman to church to help her perform prayer, knowing that there is no legitimate relationship between them, such as marriage or siblinghood, but merely academic camaraderie?

If a man explicitly denies your lineage to your father, this is an accusation (qadhf) that necessitates the punishment of eighty lashes upon him. You have the right to refer his case to an Islamic court, if one is available. This is the view of Ibn Qudamah and the madhhab (school of thought) of thelaf and Khalaf (early and later generations), and it is supported by the saying of Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him. It is not permissible to insult him in kind, because that would entail slandering his mother. Furthermore, it is not permissible to carry out the حد (prescribed punishment) on him yourself; this is the prerogative of the ruler. It is not permissible to go to a church with a Christian woman, because her prayer is misguidance and falsehood, and there is a fear that whoever does so might be pleased with the disbelief of the disbelievers.
