Seeking knowledge is a great act of drawing closer to Allah Almighty. It is not a condition to be enrolled in a college. Some knowledge is an individual obligation (fard ayn), and some is a communal obligation (fard kifaya). Whoever strives to acquire it is upon good. It is necessary to choose well from whom one takes knowledge, selecting trustworthy scholars who follow the and avoid innovations. Today, methods of acquiring knowledge are made easy through tapes and books of proficient scholars. Therefore, the student should benefit from them and seek Allah's help.
