Is it permissible to ask for all good things in supplication, and is that considered an transgression?

It is from the Sunnah for a servant to ask their Lord to grant them all good. It has been narrated from Aisha that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught her a supplication: "O Allah, I ask You for all good, that which is immediate and that which is deferred, what I know of it and what I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the best of what Your servant and Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil of what Your servant and Prophet sought refuge in You from. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and what brings one closer to it of speech or deed, and I ask You to make every decree You issue for me good."

Excessiveness in supplication means for the servant to ask for something that is not permissible legally or practically, because Allah has established affairs according to fixed cosmic laws. Therefore, one should not ask for what contradicts these laws.
