No matter how severe the disagreement with your father may be, you must still honor him, treat him with kindness, and never hate, abandon, or mistreat him, whether by word or deed. This is based on the Almighty's saying: "So do not say to them 'uff' and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word." Disobeying one's parents is among the greatest major sins. If your father makes a mistake, advise him with wisdom and gentleness. Strive to honor him and seek his pleasure, for the pleasure of the Lord lies in the pleasure of the parents.
