If a person hears a muezzin, then hears another, does he respond to both?

If a Muslim hears an adhan after prayer, the prophetic hadith is general in its indication of the answer. However, some scholars hold that he should not respond because he is not being called by this adhan. And whoever acts upon the generality of the hadith, there is good in his action.
