Is the certification obtained by passing an exam without attending or studying at a private school considered unlawful (haram)?

Obtaining a degree through money is not permissible, because it is treachery and cheating. As for studying in school to be exempt from attendance and to succeed with excellence without cheating, there is no objection to it.
