Is it permissible to pray behind an imam who bows and prostrates while standing in a fard prayer?

If the Imam is unable to perform rukūʿ (bowing) or sujūd (prostration), it is not permissible for a healthy person to follow him in prayer, according to Imams Malik, Abu Hanifa, and Ahmad. However, it is permissible according to Imam Al-Shafi’i. The first opinion is more preponderant and safer.
