Is a girl who ran away from her mother after taking her money and belongings—and who was raised in an un-Islamic manner and disobeyed her mother—entitled to inherit from her mother?

There are three impediments to inheritance: murder, difference in religion, and slavery. A thief is not prevented from inheriting, but he is required to return what he stole. If he does not, the value of the stolen item is calculated and included in the inheritance before distribution.

The disobedience of children is often a result of the parents' negligence in upbringing, as they are responsible for their children. They have been commanded to protect themselves and their families from the Fire. So, whoever neglects the upbringing of their children will be punished by their disobedience.

Severing ties with a daughter may not be a means of reform; rather, it could lead to greater corruption. Therefore, abandonment (hajr) is not legislated for its own sake unless it leads to reform.
