What is the ruling on severing ties of kinship with a father or paternal uncle who sexually assaulted one of his female relatives, and is it permissible to pray over him if he dies?

The crimes of adultery and severing ties of kinship are major sins and immoral acts, and a Muslim should detest these actions.

It is not permissible to abandon a father or a relative who commits sins unless there is a benefit or to prevent a greater harm. Rather, one should advise and admonish them.

Praying over an adulterer after their death is obligatory, however, if they were openly defiant in their immorality, then it is disliked for the virtuous and prominent members of the community to pray over them, as a deterrent to those like them and a rebuke to others.
