Is it considered usury to take out a loan of 10,0 pounds and receive only 9,0 pounds, with repayment of 10,0 pounds?

A "Qard Hasan" (benevolent loan) is when a person gives money to another, on condition that it be returned to him without any stipulated increase. This is because every loan that draws a benefit or an increase is usury (riba), which is forbidden by the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of Muslims. For example, if you take 9,0 to return 10,0, then this is precisely the usury from which one's conscience must be cleared and which incurs Allah's wrath. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, cursed the one who consumes usury, the one who pays it, its scribe, and its two witnesses.
