Is the story of the woman who came to David (upon him be peace) and questioned him about the justice of Allah, and then her innocence from injustice was revealed after the incident of the boat, a true story?

This story has no trace in the books of scholars, nor is its reality or source known. It is unlikely that its content is true because it is illogical that those on a ship would wait for a bird to throw fabric and yarn to them to mend a hole; if it were possible, they would have taken off their clothes. It is a story told without affirmation or denial, and it is often among the Israʼiliyyat (tales of Jewish origin). If its purpose is to show that Allah ordains good for the believer from whence they do not expect, then this meaning is true and has evidence from the Qur'an and Sunnah (definition), such as His Almighty's saying: (And it may be that you dislike a thing which is good for you) and His Almighty's saying: (And if you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah makes therein much good) and the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: (Wondrous is the affair of the believer, for all his affairs are good). So, the believer should be content with Allah's decree and destiny, and believe that Allah ordains nothing for them but good.
