What is the ruling on one who performs actions to attract good luck, and do these actions take the ruling of omens (tatayyur) which may be minor or major shirk, or are these matters considered major shirk?

"Bringing good luck" is the act of invoking good fortune by doing something that is hoped to be its cause. Its ruling varies depending on the cause. If the cause is legitimate, such as supplication (du'a), remembrance of Allah (dhikr), and maintaining kinship ties, then there is no harm in it. However, if it involves wearing amulets or bracelets, it is a form of shirk (associating partners with Allah), and it can be a minor or major shirk depending on the worshipper's belief. If a servant relies on them, trusts in them, and attributes benefit and harm to them, then it is major shirk, because he has then relied on other than Allah.
