What is the ruling on saying: "I imagine that when God Almighty sees you crying to Him alone and not to others – you cry and supplicate to Him – His mercy stirs, His Lordship stirs, His Majesty stirs. And God Almighty says: 'My angels, what made My servant cry? What made My servant cry? I did not create him to see him like this'"?

There is no doubt that imagining Allah dislikes crying is a mistake and contrary to reality. Allah loves crying out of His awe. Allah Almighty praised those who weep in the Holy Quran, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, considered a tear shed out of awe of Allah to be among the things most beloved to Allah. Among the seven whom Allah will shade with His shade is a man who remembered Allah in solitude, and his eyes overflowed. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to weep during his prayer.
