What should a young man do if he wants to marry and remain chaste, but his salary is insufficient, and his father is wealthy but unwilling to help him? Is the father sinful for this? And what is the ruling on a temporary Misyar marriage as a solution, even if the young man is not convinced by it?

A Muslim should be patient until Allah enriches him, and he should fast frequently. It was incumbent upon the father to marry him off if he was able, because he had married off his brothers, and justice among children is obligatory. Some scholars obligate a father to marry off his son who is in need of it. The father may be sinful for his injustice towards his son, according to the majority view, and sinful for not marrying him off despite his ability to do so, according to those who deem it obligatory. As for Misyar marriage, it fulfills the aspect of chastity, and it is a solution for whoever merely seeks chastity. The pillars and conditions of marriage must be met in it.
