What is the ruling on establishing Islamic projects through Christian or Jewish missionary groups?
It is not permissible to entrust Islamic projects — such as the construction of mosques — to disbelieving laborers, because they cannot be trusted with them, nor can their sincerity be relied upon, due to the Almighty's saying: (There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone"), and His saying: (The believing men and believing women are allies of one another), and His saying: (And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. If you do not do so, there will be fitnah on earth and great corruption). A resolution has been issued by the Council of Senior Scholars prohibiting this.
