How do I reconcile repentance to Allah, seeking His Countenance, with fear of the dominion of an oppressive authority who might harm me, and with my knowledge that whatever befalls me is by Allah’s decree?
To face the harm caused by evil people, remember that fighting corruption is a duty and brings a great reward. The prophets were subjected to harm before us, and in their experiences lies the greatest consolation. Seek Allah's help and rely on Him to repel oppression and harm, for He is the Protector of the righteous. Do not yield to the whisperings of Satan that call you to abandon good deeds out of fear of showing off. Distance yourself from mentioning the person causing harm and distract yourself from their threats. Instead, frequently recite "Allah is sufficient for us, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs," as the Companions did.
