Is the hadith narrated by Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, concerning the greatest of major sins, which is: "Associating partners with Allah, feeling secure from Allah's devices, despairing of Allah's mercy, and losing hope in Allah's comfort," sound in its chain of narration as transmitted by Abdur-Razzaq?

The aforementioned narration from Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, states: "The greatest of major sins are: associating partners with Allah, feeling secure from Allah's plan, despairing of Allah's mercy, and losing hope in the relief from Allah." This was narrated by Abdur-Razzaq, At-Tabarani, and Ibn Jarir. Its chain of narration was authenticated by Al-Haythami and Ibn Kathir. While it is a mawquf (وقف - stopped at a Companion) narration, it holds the حكم المرفوع (ruling of being attributed to the Prophet) because it is not a matter of personal opinion. Part of it has been narrated as marfu' (مرفوع - attributed to the Prophet) in a hadith (definition) by Al-Bazzar from Ibn Abbas with a good chain of narration. Furthermore, it is supported by the Quran and Sunnah (definition) in verses such as: (Indeed, he who associates partners with Allah - Allah has forbidden him Paradise), and (And no one feels secure from the plan of Allah except the losing people), and (And who despairs of the mercy of his Lord except those astray?), and (Indeed, no one despairs of relief from Allah except the disbelieving people).
