What is the ruling concerning a girl whose fornication has been proven, and what is the religious duty of her guardian in the event that the implementation of the prescribed punishments (Hudud) is suspended? Is he obligated to carry out the punishment himself or to confine her to his home?

To establish the hadd (prescribed punishment) for zina (unlawful sexual intercourse), three matters must be confirmed: that the woman involved was not coerced, that actual sexual penetration occurred, and that the act of zina is proven by one of the Sharia-compliant methods: the confession of the one who committed zina, the testimony of four male witnesses, or strong circumstantial evidence coupled with a lack of denial. If zina is proven, then the implementation of the hadd is exclusively within the authority of the Imam or his deputy. As for the girl who willingly committed the illicit act, she must engage in sincere repentance and increase her good deeds. Her family should cover her sin and advise her without exposing her, and they should wisely strive to address the reasons that led her to commit the sin.
