What is the ruling of Islamic law concerning dealing with a committed girl who became pregnant as a result of zina after being subjected to an assault at night without knowing the perpetrator, taking into consideration that her father secretly flogged her and that it is not possible to carry out the حد (punishment) in their country?

The father must cover for his daughter and treat her kindly until she gives birth. He is not permitted to abort the fetus, as this is considered killing a soul after the ensoulment and corrupting the lineage before it. The implementation of the hudud (punishments) is not for the general populace, but rather for the ruler. It is obligatory to block all means leading to zina (fornication/adultery), and the father is not permitted to marry off his daughter except after her iddah (waiting period) has ended with childbirth.
