The majority of scholars consider the consumption of the dabb (mastigure lizard) permissible, and therefore its sale is allowed due to its intended benefit, contrary to the Hanafis who do not permit its sale. As for the qanfudh (hedgehog), the majority of jurists deem its consumption permissible; Al-Shafi'i, Al-Layth, and Abu Thawr permitted its consumption, while Malik and Abu Hanifa disliked it, and this is the chosen opinion of the Permanent Committee and Ibn 'Uthaymin. Regarding the turtle, scholars differed on its sale: the Hanafis, Shafi'is, and Hanbalis do not permit its sale due to its lack of benefit, whereas the Malikis consider its sale permissible due to its purity and the possibility of benefiting from it. Ibn Hazm considers the consumption of the turtle permissible, and whatever animal is permissible to eat, its sale is permissible.
