A father must prioritize the religious and moral upbringing of his children over wealth, for they are a trust and a responsibility he will be questioned about on the Day of Judgment. He must protect them from the fire of Hell. Some fathers have sacrificed their children's upbringing by focusing on wealth, and they have regretted it. If a father's travel away from his family harms them, then it is forbidden (haram). If it does not harm them but causes them pain, and there is a great benefit in the travel, such as seeking knowledge, then there is no objection. Otherwise, his staying with them is better. He should consult a scholar about his situation and what is best for him.
