If there is a conflict between the husband's right and the right of another, the husband's right takes precedence. However, a husband is not permitted to prevent his wife from maintaining ties of kinship. She must obey him if he forbids her from visiting, but he is not allowed to prevent her from conversing. Therefore, there is no harm in speaking with a sister without the husband's knowledge, in order to maintain kinship ties and preserve affection with the husband.
