Is it permissible for a male student to be injected by a non-mahram woman during a medical examination?
Originally, a man should inject a man. However, if there is a need due to the absence of a man, then there is no harm for a woman to do so. Sheikh Ibn Baz is of the opinion that necessity permits a female nurse to inject a man if no male nurse is available, while emphasizing that it is preferable for female nurses to treat women and for male nurses to treat men. If there is no need, or if it leads to শরী‘আ- (Islamic law) violations such as uncovering the 'awrah (private parts) or touching the body, then it is not permissible for a female nurse to inject a man, unless it can be done without শরী‘আ- violations, such as if the injection site is not 'awrah and the nurse wears gloves.
