The devil's entry points into the hearts of human beings are numerous. The heart is likened to a fortress and the devil to an enemy who seeks to seize it. Protecting the heart is obligatory and cannot be achieved except by knowing the devil's entry points. Among his great doors are: anger, lust, envy, greed, satiety from food, love of adornment, covetousness of people's possessions, haste, love of money, stinginess, and suspicion of Muslims. Every blameworthy characteristic in a human being is a weapon for the devil and an entry point for him. The remedy for this is to block these entry points by purifying the heart of blameworthy characteristics.
