I will answer the difficulty concerning the hadith which denies the existence of a believer other than Abraham and Sarah, despite the faith of Lot (peace be upon him), with two responses: First, that the negation intended is the existence of two believing spouses other than them. Second, that the intended meaning of "the earth" in the hadith is the land they entered, and Lot was not with them there.
