How many blasts will there be on the Day of Resurrection, and what are their names?

The scholars differed concerning the number of blasts of the Trumpet (Sur). Some held that they are three: the blast of terror (nafakhat al-faza'), then the blast of unconsciousness/death (nafakhat as-sa'q), then the blast of resurrection (nafakhat an-nushoor). They based this on the hadith of Abu Hurairah, which clarified their names. Others, however, maintained that there are only two, preferring the view that the blast of terror is the same as the blast of unconsciousness/death.
